The fellowship application needs to be submitted through the sponsor's electronic portal. Can the applicant create an account to submit the application?

Question:

The fellowship application needs to be submitted through the sponsor's electronic portal. Can the applicant create an account to submit the application?

Answer

Many fellowship sponsors require applications to be submitted through an electronic proposal system. If the sponsor's system permits only one institution account or sign-on per organization, applicants should contact SPA before creating an account to ensure a University account does not already exist.

In some cases, sponsor requirements may necessitate SPA submitting the application on the applicant's behalf. However, SPA's submission of the application does not determine which campus office will administer the award if the fellowship is funded. Award administration responsibility will be determined based on the fellowship's characteristics and the Fellowship Decision Tree.
