Export Controls Updates

The federal government has released important updates to policy and guidance related to foreign influence and export controls.

  • The US Department of Energy released changes to streamline requirements and update definitions in DOE O 142.3B.- 3-2-2022. A summary of the changes can be found here.
  • The White House National Science and Technology Council provided an updated 2022 version of the Critical & Emerging Technology List.
  • The White House NSTC also released guidance for implementing National Security Presidential Memorandum 33 (NSPM-33). The purpose of NSPM-33 is to strengthen protections of U.S. Government-supported R&D against foreign government interference and misappropriation, while maintaining an open environment to foster research discoveries and innovation that benefit the US and the world.
